They can be filled with lots of goodies pertaining the the theme you choose. But to show you really care about someone, why not go with a healthy gift basket this year? We have put together some tips to create a healthy themed gift basket for anyone you love.
Personalize It For the Recipient
You need to know what the person you are giving it to likes to eat. It’s even easier if they are already eating healthy. You also have to know if they have any allergies to specific foods such as nuts or dairy.
Add the items and ingredients that you know fit their lifestyle if it’s a healthy one. If they aren’t into a healthy lifestyle, this can be a great way to introduce them to foods and products that can show them that living healthy doesn’t have to taste bad or be difficult.
Use Reusable Containers
They can get more use by presenting the gift basket in a container that can be reused or repurposed. You could use a basket and they could reuse that but you can get even more creative.
You can line a crate with a new sweater or shirt. You can add decorative bows or ribbons to add a more festive feel depending on the holiday. They can use the crate for storage and who wouldn’t love a new shirt or sweater!
Other great container ideas are grocery totes, duffel bags, and wooden crates. Add a cute chalkboard plaque that has a personalized message or healthy recipe written on it.
Preparing the Gift Basket
Even if you aren’t crafty, it’s super easy to put together a gift basket that looks great. Decide first on the size you are going to need.
If you use a deep container, you should get something that will prop up the ingredients so they can be seen. Crumpled paper, foam peanuts or even a piece of styrofoam can be used to lift the products. Just make sure that you use something lightweight.
Once it’s at the proper height, add some decorative filler or paper. This will be showing between the products that you place so make sure it covers completely and looks good with the container. You can find inexpensive paper or filler at your local dollar store.
Healthy Snacks and Foodstuff
Most everyone loves snacks and you can find plenty of healthy snacks to fill your container. A few ideas for healthy snacks include: Dried fruit Nuts Seeds Energy bars Beef jerky Coconut chips Popcorn chips
Teas can be included in your gift container since they are full of healthy ingredients and antioxidants. Certain teas have many healthy benefits including boosting your immune system, soothing your digestive system, reducing anxiety, anti-aging benefits and even, weight loss. There are many different varieties and flavors to choose from.
What healthy gift basket would be complete without adding a few superfood supplements. If you are giving this to someone who works in a crowded office or school, there are many superfoods that will boost the immune system and provide health benefits for better health and well-being.
Some of these superfoods include:
- Bee Pollen
- Raw organic honey
And there are superfood powder blends that anyone can add to a smoothie for a great tasting supplement.
Start at the back and arrange the ingredients so they can be seen. You should put the tallest and heaviest items in the back to provide stability but you can arrange the ingredients any way you like.
Have fun with it. If you need to anchor items down, try some clear tape and attach them to a heavier product.
After you are done arranging everything, use clear cellophane and wrap the container and ingredients. Make sure you have enough to cover both sides of the container.
Once everything has been wrapped, gather and tie it with a string or twist tie and then tie a beautiful bow on it.
By giving a healthy gift basket, you can help someone feel better and if your give it to someone who has been neglecting their health, this could inspire them to start taking better care of themselves.
